EXP1:Week 2: The Stairs

For my first client Antonio Stradivari, I'm situating his workplace to be on the top floor. So the staircase will connect from the datum to the floor above. My design is inspired by the the waist (C-bouts) of the violin body.

View: Front Side
View: Side inside a section

As violins are made out of various wood, this stair would be constructed with wood.

It would be adjoined to a wall so the stair itself can support its weight.

For my second client Shinya Kimura, his studio is at the bottom.
The stair has various forms of turns and shapes to represent the bolts and different shapes seen in a motor engine.

The stair itself is made out of dark wood known as Jarrah while the monuments on the top level are made out of concrete.
